@GardenParkGHLocal Information - in and around Grantown on Spey

Grantown-on-Spey, founded in the 18th century, is the historical capital of Strathspey nestling in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.

Few areas in Scotland provide the year round tourist attraction and sporting opportunities that can be found in the Spey Valley and Cairngorm Mountain area, making Grantown the ideal base for exploring the area. In March 25th 2003 the Cairngorms National Park, the largest National Park in the UK (3800sqm) was established by the Scottish Parliament extending from Grantown-on- Spey down through the Cairngorm Mountains. This will develop the natural and cultural heritage of our area even further for the enjoyment of tourists and locals alike. Scotland is the best place to get back to nature with red deer, otters, dolphins, golden eagles, osprey and pine martens.
